Description
A Tale in the Desert continues with A Tale in the Desert II with an updated road system and better graphics.
Overview: A Tale in the Desert is an online game set in ancient Egypt where players work together to build the perfect society. It uses the internet to allow thousands of players to play together in the same world. All of the characters you will see and talk to in the game are controlled by other people just like you, not by a computer. A Tale in the Desert is the first online game to focus on long-term planning and long-term goals rather than combat. Goals include the creation of great works of art and architecture, becoming a powerful leader, and building wealth.

Nice to see a realistic MMOG without a single hint
Whilst I am usually the type of person who gets bored of there being nothing to do but kill things, this game had me getting bored of crafting. It's a fresh breeze, no doubt, but the crafting sort of gave you the feeling that you could, well, beat the game. I know trading will allways remain, but once you've crafted everything, become a member of every temple, maxed out your skills and built a city with soem friends, then what is there left to do?
The Law-system is interesting, and I suppose this allows the evolution to be furthered. After all, the idea seems to be re-living ancient Egypt, and play a part in its' becoming, and perhaps even change its' history.
I think that this game has potential to become a good MMOG for those who are tired of the games all about killing/levelling, allthough it does not really appeal to me. I will still follow its' development with great interest, however.
PS. I tried to make the game last longer by grouping people together to create a huge bon-fire... ...too bad I failed;)

Going live soon
Very fun game IMO. Some people might not like the fact that you don't kill, kill, kill. The premise is to build up the society by cooperative ventures. For example: you start out as a gatherer and have to gather each item one at a time. After building up society some, you can automate some skills.
It's definately different from Everquest.

Quite alright game.
Decent graphics, even if below the quality in most other commercial titles.
Very original concept which probably isn't for everyone.
In the end it ended up feeling a bit too much like work and too little like play.
