Guild Charter

The goal of Blackfist Clan is for everyone to get involved in an epic adventure; and to enjoy themselves. This is not a 100% Roleplay guild but we will try to maintain a few rules that lean that way. We are founded on friendship, and our one true goal is to have fun. We are not overly strict, but we feel some rules need to be in place to maintain a fun guild and our style of play. We are dedicated to success and becoming an effective fighting force against the icky freaks in the other realms.

The leadership (Clan Leader and Council) have last say in all matters concerning guild property. This will include making final decisions on purchasing guild assets such as land and buildings.

The Clan leadership will be thinking of bettering the Clan as a whole, at all times. Anyone with a grievance against either council or leadership will be afforded the right to openly or privately post his/her concerns.

Clan policy will be enforced by all those in leadership roles, including class leaders. While final decisions rest in the hands of the Clan Leader and Council, matters of importance will be voted upon. Each member of the guild will have the opportunity to voice their opinions. NO one will be abused by other members or leadership for voicing an opinion contrary to Clan rules or decisions.

A Clan bank account will be established. There will be a set amount of dues (yet to be determined) to be paid to the Clan account on a set recurring basis. This will ensure that when the day comes we can afford a Clan Hall, and make sure all our members are properly suited for battle!

Clan funds will not be squandered or used for personal gain by anyone. Access to Clan funds will be monitored and posted so everyone can see it's activity. A loot policy will be determined and posted as soon as possible.

A willingness to group with, help and further benefit fellow Clan members will be asked of all members.

Members of the Clan who have attained soldier status may nominate new members as well as nominate current members for leadership positions within the clan.

Code of Conduct

Blackfist Clan is dedicated to fun and being a successful fighting force. In order to accomplish both those goals we have established a set of rules we feel represent our style of play, and we will enforce these rules. We do not run the guild with an iron fist, and encourage people to play the way they will have the most fun. However, some things we will not allow, and if someone wishes to play that way then Blackfist Clan is not the guild for them.

Remember that ANYTHING you do while wearing the Blackfist guild tag reflects on our guild as a whole. This is why we will enforce these rules.

The following are mandatory rules, the only ones we will strictly enforce, and players may be asked to leave the guild for violating them. This is not all-inclusive, and may be added to or changed at any time the Council and Clan Leader see fit. We will not harass any player who does violate the rules, but we strongly feel that if they do, then they do not belong in Blackfist Clan and will have more fun somewhere else.

Mandatory Rules

1) Treat EVERYONE with respect. Especially fellow guild members. If someone deliberately provokes you try to walk away. Everyone loses their cool once in awhile, especially on the many grief players out there, but doing so to excess is un-excusable.

2) Do not Spam. Spamming the Guild Chat, the Broad Channel, or an individual is not acceptable, in any circumstances.

3) Do not use the guild tag as a threat. IE "I will get my whole guild over here on you". This looks HORRIBLE and is unacceptable.

4) Do not kill/camp steal. This game, fortunately, is anti-camp, but people still do so, and will still do so. If you come to an area you want to fight and can see there is a group/someone there ask to share or join their group. If they say no, go somewhere else. If someone comes up to where one of our groups is camping, offer to share, or politely explain that you have the area. They will soon leave if they realize that they can't compete for the mobs. If they can, go somewhere else, no amount of harassment on your part will make them want to leave.

5) Know your class. Talk to higher level players of your class for info, look up guides and strategies on the Internet. We don't only take "the uber" players, but you should know how to play the class you chose.

6) NEVER save yourself at the expense of your group. Do not flee from a fight that your group has not yet abandoned. If the group leader, or someone else, says, "RUN" than do so, but don't leave your group in the middle of a fight because you are scared of dying.

7) Remember dying is part of the game. Try not to overreact. Take a death, make a joke, take a breath, drive on.

8) Register under your name on our boards. Everyone is required to register on the guild boards, register locally if your name is taken already. We use the boards for important guild decisions, guild plans, and just plain bs'ing. Your voice and opinions are best heard on the boards. It is our means for mass communication.

9) Do not harass guild members for help. Everyone should try to be as helpful as possible, but we are not here for any one individual. If you need help, then ask, but do not continually ask and ask and ask. People are encouraged to help others but no one is required to. So if you need something, a res, a guide, a fast ride, or anything, ask, but be prepared not to get help, and don't complain about not receiving it. Also keep in mind that the more someone helps, the more likely they are to get help in return.

10) Do not beg. Begging is unacceptable. Do not beg from anyone, especially clan members, for anything.

11)Character Names. We will not accept anybody into the guild who has a name that we consider offensive. All other names will be considered on a case by case basis.

12) Rules for secondaries:
A) You may tag one alt at level 20, two at level 35 and three at level 45.

B) Once invited the alts will remain and be treated as Secondary characters with regards to handed down loot, only having rights over new recruits that have been in BC less than 14 days.

C) If you wish to change your Main character to be one of your Alts, you must make your request known via the members board. You can only switch your Main twice within one year.

D) Any actions, bans, restrictions, demotions etc.. will apply to the RL peson not just one character.

13) HAVE FUN!!! It is what we are all here for. Ask yourself this often, "Am I having fun?" If the answer is "no" then your doing something wrong. The beauty of this game is the variety of things to do, if you are in a group and are getting frustrated and/or angry, take a break, find another group, work on trade skills, do some tasks, or do some quests. Burn out happens a lot in these types of games, be aware of it, and don't let it bring you down.

Encouraged

The following things are encouraged, but not mandatory. They are things that we feel help a guild as a whole, and reflect our style of play, but no one will be asked to leave the guild for not doing so.

1) Try to group with guild members. The guild is here for a group of friends to play with.

2) Be helpful. It makes you and the guild look good, and it will usually be beneficial in the long run.

3) If you happen upon a kick-ass item you can't use, donate it to someone in the guild who can.

4) Try to attend guild events and raids.

5) Be friendly. Our guild is about friendship; it is what we are founded on. Try to make everyone in the guild your friend; it will be more fun that way. Being friendly to non-guild members also reflects well on the guild as a whole.

6) Help other members. Fellow members will need help with a variety of things, quests, directions, tips, etc. Helping them will help you get help when you need it. However, do not help to the point where you are no longer having fun.

7) Stay active on the boards. It is a good way to keep in touch with everyone at the same time, and a fun place to communicate when you can't be playing.

8) Learn how to play your class well. Although we ask people to know how to play their class in mandatory, it is also encouraged to learn how to play well. It will help us be a more successful fighting force, and add to the total fun of playing the game. There are lots of resources out there, use them.

9) USE the Internet. There are maps and guides to just about everything out there, and there will be more and more as time goes on. Use them. Having good maps will make playing the game easier and more fun, and make it easier to explore new places. There are very few questions you may have that can't be answered on some site somewhere.

10) Keep in mind that no matter how hard Darion tries, he will never be as cool as Savaric.

All members and potential members are required to read this. It is really who the Blackfist Clan is. If you feel that you cannot abide by these rules and guidelines than perhaps this is not the guild for you. If a member is reported as having violated any of the mandatory rules by another guild member, or by any player, an officer will investigate it. If the officer believes that the player did indeed violate them they can either be put on review, or asked to leave the guild.

Ok, that's out of the way, lets play!
